Installing Merola Tiles and Other Glass Products
Like most glass and delicate tiles Merola tiles come with a mesh backing for easy handling and mount up. Their translucency and fragility bring a new charm and gracefulness to your home décor.
Measure and prepare the area where the designated area. Apply a thin layer of thinset white or one that is closest to your wall color. Press the mesh backed tile sheet onto the mortar so that the tiles are set but the mortar doesn’t push up too much between tiles.
Once the tiles are secure, with a damp sponge or sprayer wet the peel back paper that has been applied to the tile surface. Slowly pull out the paper and apply the grout with the help of a grout float. Grout, again should not be too heavy but must settle into the grooves easily. Next wipe off all the excess grout with a damp sponge for added shine.
